Lake Como From Bellagio

Though started as a plein-air painting, the work was completed in studio.

The view is afternoon from the eastern side of the Bellagio peninsula looking across the lake to the town of Fiumelatte and the 2,400 metre peaks of the Grigna Range.

This painting is the result of a wonderful painting workshop I attended in mid-August 2019 based in beautiful bustling Bellagio at Lake Como Italy. Attendance at the workshop was part of my research into Italian art retreats for an article I wrote in the 2019 Summer edition of Australia’s Signature Luxury Travel magazine – click here to read.
