On the Road to Hill End, Study in Black, 2015, oil on canvas board, triptych, panels 30 x 30 cm.
This work above is exercise in the grey scale using different blacks, each mixed with Zinc white. I used five different commercial black paints: Perylene Black = Green Mars; Black = Brown/Yellow; Ivory Black = Neutral Grey; Lambs Black = Red and Payne’s Grey = Blue. Lead oxide white was used for the clouds only, offering a rich creamy affect.
