Storm over Dunedoo, 2020, oil on board, 60 x 50 cm.
This work took me three weeks on and off to paint. The painting is based on a sketch I made during a most enjoyable five day 375 km. bicycle tour of Central New South Wales. The bike trip was with my brother Ken and six of his mates in September 2020. I cheated by using an electric bike!
The storm was strong, swift and furious. The scene is of the moments before the storm hit within the wonderful green of country NSW last spring. There is a sunlit yellow canola crop and the twisted purple Patterson’s Curse in the foreground.
