Roadside to Bathurst, 1966, watercolour on paper, 34.5 x 27 cm.
My older brother Sid was boarding at The Scotts School Bathurst, so every three weeks or so the family would drive the 3.5 hours from Sydney in the Holden station wagon to visit.
About 10 kms before Bathurst I was given the opportunity to paint whilst the rest of my family enjoyed a side-of-the-road picnic lunch. I was 10 years old at the time though I still remember this crisp, windy, cloudy day.
